Water for Life August 2024

Our recent visit to the sanctuary site was a thrill. Five beautiful acres of greenery just waiting for giraffes. We have now planted more than 40 trees, and while the rain keeps the plants blooming, what is missing is water access for our giraffe guests.

Conversations with local authorities have confirmed that we can have pipes bring water from the main source in a nearby town, so that is our new project.

Once the pipes are in place and it is possible to just "turn the spigot" we can create water pools that are clean and abundant. World wide water supplies are often contaminated with chemicals (like the thallium contamination in South Africa) providing clean water means longer lives and better health for our future resident giraffes.

We are looking forward to moving this project forward with the help of our supporters.
